Strategy & Transformation

What must change for it to work?

A strategy is only useful if the organisation can make the choices, build the capability and sustain the change required to deliver it.

I help boards and executive teams move from ambition to an honest assessment of what implementation will require. That means establishing what is true, clarifying the decision that actually needs to be made and connecting strategic direction with investment, capability, operating performance and accountability.

My approach combines strategic judgement with substantial executive experience. I understand strategy from both sides: setting direction and leading the organisation expected to deliver it.

Finding the real strategic choice

The presenting question is not always the real one.

I help organisations examine the evidence, test the assumptions beneath the preferred answer and make competing priorities and trade-offs visible. The aim is not to produce more strategy. It is to create a clear basis for consequential choices about direction, investment and performance.
